Rado Watches – Swiss High-Tech Ceramic Wristwatches

Rado watches from an official dealer: our range includes several collections of the Swiss brand, with most models coming from the Captain Cook, True Square and Florence families, roughly half with quartz and half with automatic movements. Women's and men's pieces, in steel and high-tech ceramic, can all be ordered online with manufacturer warranty and home delivery. If something is not in the range, we will try to source it, and battery changes and strap adjustments are done by our own watch service.
What Is Worth Knowing About the Rado Brand?
Rado is a Swiss watch brand. It started in 1917 in Lengnau as Schlup & Co, founded by the Schlup brothers – Fritz, Ernst and Werner – and it has used the Rado name since 1957. Today it belongs to the Swatch Group. The word means wheel in Esperanto. The brand is also called the "master of materials", because it became truly well known for high-tech ceramic watches; its two legendary models, the DiaStar and the Captain Cook, both appeared in 1962.
Which Rado Collection Suits You?
- Rado Captain Cook – automatic sports watches; several models in the series are water resistant to 300 metres, so if you swim or take your watch on holiday, look at these first.
- Rado True Square – a square case, many unisex sizes, in automatic and quartz versions.
- Rado Florence – the brand's entry level, mainly with quartz movements.
- Centrix, Integral, Coupole – more delicate women's models, often set with stones (Diamonds).
What Price Range Do Rado Watches Represent?
Rado sits in the middle to upper price range of Swiss watches. In our range the Florence is the most accessible entry point, the Centrix and the HyperChrome make up the middle, and the automatic Captain Cook dive watches and the ceramic Integral pieces represent the higher price range. The price is determined mostly by the movement (quartz or automatic), the case material (steel or high-tech ceramic) and diamond decoration; you always see the exact price on the product page of the watch.
Quartz or Automatic Rado?
Most of our women customers choose quartz: it is thinner, lighter, and does not stop if it sits in a drawer for a few days. If you like the idea of the watch drawing its energy from the movement of your wrist, the automatic Captain Cook or True Square is the way to go. When buying online, it is worth comparing the case thickness and weight of the two types on the product page – the automatic is typically chunkier – and if you are unsure, write to us and we will help you decide.
