Where Does the Roamer Watch Brand Come From?
Roamer is a Swiss watch brand founded in 1888, started by Fritz Meyer in Solothurn. It is still an independent company making Swiss Made watches. In 1955 it patented its waterproof case called Anfibio, which is why water resistant sports watches have long been among the brand's strengths.
Which Roamer Series Can You Get from Us?
- Elegant: the Roamer Classic collector's collection (Diana, R8, Elite, Classico), the EOS Classic and the Optimus.
- Automatic, suitable for swimming too: Searock and Montalbano, both 10 atm.
- Dive watches: Deep Sea 200, Premier and Rockshell Mark, with 20 atm.
- Chronographs: Pro Chrono and Power Chrono.
Which Roamer Do We Recommend to Whom?
If you are looking for your first Swiss watch and it matters that you do not have to baby it, a quartz Deep Sea 200 or Pro Chrono is the least trouble. If you wear a single watch for both the office and holidays, a 10 atm Searock or Montalbano automatic is a good companion. For women we recommend the elegant Classic models; if the watch also has to go to the beach, then the women's Deep Sea.
Which Roamer Falls into Which Price Range?
The range can be roughly divided into three bands. At entry level you mainly find quartz models: Classic pieces, the Rockshell Mark and the quartz Deep Sea 200. The middle is made up of chronographs and elegant women's watches. The higher price range typically holds the automatics: Montalbano, Optimus, PrimeLine, Searock and Premier. You always see the exact price on the product page of the model.
What we usually suggest is that, even online, you compare two or three models with one another: a sporty one, an elegant one and an automatic. Check the case diameter and thickness on the product page and compare them with your wrist size – on the wrist, a completely different watch often wins than the one you picked from the photos.
If you are unsure, write to us and we will help you choose which Roamer suits your style and your wrist.
Frequently Asked Questions About Roamer Watches
What kind of brand is Roamer?
Roamer is an independent Swiss watch brand founded in Solothurn in 1888. It makes Swiss Made watches, with both elegant and sporty collections.
What determines the price of a Roamer watch?
Mainly the movement and the water resistance: the quartz Classic and Deep Sea models make up the brand's entry level, the chronographs the middle, and the automatic Searock, Montalbano and Premier pieces the higher price range.
Which is the best Roamer dive watch?
For diving we recommend the 20 atm Deep Sea 200 and Premier series. The Deep Sea can be quartz or automatic, while the Premier is automatic only.
Are there automatic Roamer watches?
Yes, a significant part of the range is automatic. That includes the Searock, the Montalbano, the Premier, the PrimeLine and several Deep Sea models.
Is Roamer a Swiss watch?
Yes, Roamer is a Swiss brand and its watches carry the Swiss Made label. The company has been operating since 1888 and is still independent.
How do I choose a Roamer watch online?
Measure your wrist and compare it with the case diameter on the product page: the Classic and the women's Deep Sea suit slimmer wrists, while the dive watches and chronographs sit well on sturdier ones. As an official Roamer dealer, every piece we send is genuine and comes with the manufacturer warranty.
