Seiko Astron Watches – GPS Solar Watches with Satellite Time Setting
Seiko Astron watches are part of our range: GPS-controlled solar men's watches, all water resistant to 100 metres. The Astron sets the exact time and time zone by itself from the satellite signal, so you never have to fiddle with the crown after landing. As an official Seiko dealer, we send every watch with the manufacturer warranty and home delivery, and our own watch service handles strap changes and warranty matters.
What can the Seiko Astron do that an ordinary watch can't?
The Astron name has made watchmaking history twice. The Quartz Astron, introduced on 25 December 1969, was the world's first quartz wristwatch, and the 2012 Astron GPS Solar was the first GPS solar watch. Today's Astron carries on that second line: it charges from light and, by picking up the signal of GPS satellites, sets not only the exact time but also the time zone. No need to turn the crown after you land.
Which Seiko Astron should you choose?
Our range includes several Astron lines:
- Astron 5X – the backbone of the series; most versions are built on this calibre, so this is where you have the widest choice of case sizes and colours.
- Astron GPS – the classic pieces of the GPS Solar line, with a more understated look.
- Astron 145th – an anniversary special edition, interesting for collectors too.
- Astron Galaxy and Astron Yozakura – sought after for their dial colours and decoration; these are the most distinctive Astrons.
Most people start from their wrist size: the Astron case is not small, so always check the case diameter and thickness on the product page and compare them with a watch you already own.
Who is an Astron for?
For anyone who travels a lot, commutes between time zones, or simply never wants to set a watch again. Thanks to solar charging, no battery change is needed as long as the watch gets light regularly. The Astron models in our range are water resistant to 10 ATM, so you can swim with them.
How to buy a Seiko Astron online
With a watch of this calibre, it makes sense to want to be sure. As an official Seiko dealer, we send the watch with the manufacturer warranty, and our own watch service sizes the metal bracelet and handles later strap changes. If you have a question about operating it – starting GPS reception, changing time zone – write to us and we will walk you through it for your exact model. You can see the whole range among the watch brands.
