Alarm clocks – digital, LED and wind-up models
We have more than 60 alarm clocks in stock right now, from 2,200 HUF to 13,900 HUF: metal-cased Merion pieces, Casio digital alarms, LED table clocks, Astron and Tiko Time models, and even four classic wind-up (mechanical) ones. At our Anna-kút store and Rókusi Tesco in Szeged you can test the ring in person. Our service team changes batteries at both locations, even while you wait.
Digital or analogue alarm clock?
Digital alarm clocks are easy to read in the dark too; many have a backlight or LED display and often show the date and temperature as well. Analogue models are quieter and look nicer on a shelf – the metal-cased Merion clocks, for example, give a classic bell ring. Wind-up pieces work without a battery, but in return you need to wind them every evening.
What to look for if you're a deep sleeper
- Sound: a hammer-and-bell alarm is louder than a beeper.
- Snooze button: it should be big and easy to reach, and easy to find by touch in the dark.
- Ticking: if the sound bothers you, choose a silent, continuous-sweep movement.
- Light: an overly bright LED display can be disturbing, so check whether the brightness is adjustable.
What's worth buying from which brand?
Most of our models come from the Merion alarm clocks range, in silver, gold, blue and black. If you want a simple, tough digital clock for a kids' room or a weekend cottage, Casio alarm clocks are a reliable choice. Astron's white and blue alarms are among the cheapest analogue pieces.
Pop into Anna-kút or Rókusi Tesco and press the button – the ring is easiest to judge in person.
Alarm clocks – questions before you choose
How much does an alarm clock cost?
Our alarm clocks cost from 2,200 HUF to 13,900 HUF. The cheapest are simple quartz analogue models; metal-cased and LED pieces cost more.
Which alarm clock is the loudest?
Metal twin-bell alarm clocks with a hammer ring the loudest. That's what we recommend for deep sleepers, rather than a beeping digital one.
Is there an alarm clock that doesn't need a battery?
Yes, we also have four wind-up mechanical alarm clocks in stock. They need winding once a day, but in return they never need a battery.
Is there a quiet, non-ticking alarm clock?
Yes, continuous-sweep analogue and digital alarm clocks don't tick. For a bedroom, it's worth choosing from these.
