Fortis watch - for the aviation obsessed
The Fortist watch brand was founded in 1912 by Walter Vogt. Twelve years after its founding, Vogt began production with John Harwood, the inventor of the automatic wristwatch. In 1926, Fortis released the patented Harwood Automatic, the first self-winding watch, at Baselworld. During its more than 100 years of history, Fortis has won many awards for aviation and space exploration. Each decade, for iconic events, a special watch was created. In addition to the continuous development of the products, the brand became more and more popular. Several patents can be linked to their name. In 2017, the company underwent a major change, one of their private investor fans took over the management of the company, Jupp Philipp. The brand has gained new momentum and keeps up with the biggest Swiss brands.
