Among watch boxes you will find several sizes, from single-watch travel cases to 6, 10 and 12-slot collector boxes, including Edelwolle pieces. You order online and we deliver to your door; from the slot and cushion size given on the product page you can easily decide which one will hold your watch comfortably. If you also want to change a strap or battery, our own watch service can help with that too.

How many slots should your watch box have?

Our rule of thumb: as many slots as you have watches, plus two. Collections almost always grow, and a half-empty box is better than one that is too tight. The range includes these sizes:

  • 1 slot: for travel, or as gift packaging alongside a single watch.
  • 6 slots: the most popular size, also available in an Edelwolle version.
  • 10 and 12 slots: for those who already have a serious collection, or who would also like to keep bracelets in it alongside their watches.

What to look for in a watch box

  • Cushion size: a large 44–46 mm dive watch on a metal bracelet does not fit comfortably on every cushion – check the inner size of the slot on the product page.
  • Glass lid: this way you can see what you are putting on that day without opening it, and dust stays out.
  • Lock: if there are children in the home, it should have a key lock.

Watch box or watch winder?

For a quartz watch and a hand-wound one, a plain box is enough. But if you rotate between several automatic watches and it annoys you to reset them all the time, also take a look at the watch winders among our other products.

If you are not sure your watch fits in the box you have in mind, send us the model name or the case diameter and we will check for you.

Watch boxes – frequently asked questions

What determines the price of a watch box?

Mainly the number of slots and the material: a single-watch travel case is the entry level, while the 10–12 slot, glass-lid, lockable boxes belong to the higher price range. You can see the exact price on the product page.

How many slots should a watch box have?

As many as you have watches, plus one or two free places. A 6-slot box is enough for most people and is a good starting point for a growing collection.

Is a watch box a good gift?

Yes, especially for someone who already has several watches. If you do not know exactly how many watches they have, a 6-slot box is the safe choice.

Does a large dive watch fit on the cushion of a watch box?

In most collector boxes it does, but for a watch with a metal bracelet and a large case, check the inner size of the slot on the product page. If you are unsure, tell us the watch model and we will let you know.
