Men's Quartz Watches – From the G-Shock to the TAG Heuer Formula
Among men's quartz watches you will find everything from affordable, simple models to Swiss chronographs. The backbone of the range is Casio – G-Shock, Edifice and Collection – alongside Festina, Tissot, Seiko and Doxa. We are an official dealer of every one of these brands, and the watches are delivered to your door with the manufacturer warranty. If the battery runs out, our own watch service replaces it and checks the water resistance too.
Why are most sporty men's watches quartz?
Because a quartz movement can take a beating, is accurate, and fits many functions into a small space: a stopwatch, an alarm, a second time zone. The first Casio G-Shock of 1983 was designed on the "Triple 10" principle: a 10-metre drop, 10 bar water resistance, a 10-year battery. The Festina Chrono Bike and the Seiko chronographs carry the same practicality forward, just in a case you can wear with a shirt sleeve.
Digital, chronograph or three-hand men's watch?
- Digital and ana-digi – G-Shock, Casio Collection: for work, training, hiking.
- Chronograph – Casio Edifice, Festina, Tissot T-Sport: sporty, but it goes with a jacket too.
- Three hands – Seiko Classic, Lorus Dress: for the office or a wedding, where understated is better.
What is Kinetic, and why is it here?
Some models have a Kinetic movement: a quartz watch whose energy is generated by the motion of your wrist, so it doesn't need a conventional battery change. Seiko introduced this solution in 1988. If mechanical or solar versions interest you too, you will find them all on the men's watches by movement page.
If you are deciding between the G-Shock and the Edifice online, check the weight and case thickness on the product page: the G-Shock has a light but chunky resin case, while the Edifice is steel, flatter and heavier – most people decide on that basis.
Men's quartz watches: what people often ask before buying
Which men's quartz watch is good for swimming?
Choose one that is at least 10 ATM; most men's quartz watches are. If you want to dive as well, the 20 ATM G-Shock and Tissot Seastar models are a safe choice.
How long does the battery last in a men's quartz watch?
Usually several years, but frequent use of the backlight, alarm and stopwatch drains it faster. The very first G-Shock was designed with a 10-year battery.
What is the difference between quartz and a Kinetic watch?
Both keep time with a quartz movement, but a Kinetic runs not from a battery but from a reserve charged by the motion of your wrist. If you don't wear it for days it may stop, but it recharges again while you wear it.
Is there an affordable men's quartz watch?
Yes, at the entry level there are mainly simple digital and analog Casio and Lorus models, good as a gift or as a work watch.
