Where does Festina come from, and why is it a “cycling” brand?
Festina started in 1902 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, later moved to Barcelona, and today is headquartered in Madrid. It belongs to the Festina Lotus group, which also includes Lotus, Jaguar, Calypso, Candino, Perrelet and L.Leroy. From 1992 to 2016 the brand was the official timekeeper of the Tour de France, which is why its cycling line is so strong.

What determines the price of a Festina watch?
The entry level is the Classic men's models, the chronographs are the middle of the range, the Swiss Made, Titanium and Ceramic pieces are in the higher price brackets, and the Connected hybrid smartwatches top the range. So the price depends mainly on the movement, the materials and the functions. The vast majority of Festina watches are quartz, so they never need winding and a battery change every few years is enough.
Women's or men's Festina?
The backbone of the brand's range is the men's watch, mainly the sporty 10 atm chronograph, but the women's line is strong too. To narrow things down, look at the Festina men's watches or the Festina women's watches separately. Can you swim with a Festina watch?
With most Festina models, yes, because they are water resistant to 10 atm, and some of the Chrono Bike series are rated to 20 atm. With the 3 and 5 atm pieces, however, take the watch off before swimming.
