Which watch needs a 20 mm strap?

The 20 mm lug width is typical of men's watches of 38–42 mm, from dress watches to dive and pilot watches. On a great many Tissot, Seiko and other men's watches this is the original size, which is why the choice here is the widest.

Leather, plastic or genuine Tissot – how to decide?

What we usually say: first decide what you wear it for. If you swim or work out with the watch, do not put leather on it; choose one of the black plastic straps or the Rochet Neptune. For the office and everyday wear the Hirsch Toronto L or Camelgrain L is elegant, while the Hirsch Mariner L and Kansas L have a sportier feel. For a Tissot watch it is worth choosing from the genuine Tissot straps.

  • For water and sport: plastic strap, Rochet Neptune black
  • For a suit: Hirsch Toronto L, Camelgrain L, Duke L
  • For pilot and field watches: Rochet Aviator brown, Hirsch Osiris Nubuk
  • For Tissot owners: genuine 20 mm Tissot

How do you measure that you need 20 mm?

The strap width is the inner distance between the two lugs of the case, at the spring bar. On many straps the number is also printed on the inside. If you get 19 or 21, look at the other sizes among all watch strap widths.

Before ordering, check the length and the buckle type on the product page too, so that the strap is sure to suit your watch and your wrist.

20 mm watch straps – frequently asked questions

What determines the cost of a 20 mm watch strap?

The material and the maker: plastic sport straps are the most affordable, Hirsch leather straps are in the middle, and genuine Tissot straps are in the higher price range.

Which 20 mm strap should I put on a dive watch?

For a dive watch we recommend a plastic or rubber-like strap, because it withstands water and leather does not. From our range the black plastic straps and the Rochet Neptune are the ones to consider.

Is there a genuine 20 mm Tissot strap?

Yes, our range includes original 20 mm Tissot straps. The product page tells you which model each one was made for.

Can I change a 20 mm strap myself?

Yes, with a spring bar tool or a thin screwdriver most straps can be changed at home. If you do not want to risk scratching the case, our own watch service will do it for you.
