Doxa Automatic Watches – Mechanical Swiss Men's Watches
Doxa automatic watches are men's models from several series: the D-Auto forms the backbone of the range, with automatic versions of the D-Light and Slim Line alongside. All of them draw their energy from the movement of your wrist and never need a battery. As an official Doxa dealer, we deliver genuine watches to your door with the manufacturer's warranty, and our own watch service takes care of maintenance.
What is an automatic watch, and why does it cost more than quartz?
An automatic watch is a mechanical watch wound by a rotating weight (the rotor) as the wearer moves their arm, so it runs without a battery. It's made of hundreds of tiny parts, which is why it costs more than a quartz watch, and also why people love it: you're wearing a little machine on your wrist. At Doxa, the automatics make up the brand's higher price tier.
Which Doxa automatic should you choose?
- Doxa D-Auto – the dedicated automatic collection, in a classic men's style.
- D-Light automatic – the same clean design as the quartz D-Light, with a mechanical movement.
- Slim Line automatic – for anyone who wants a thin case; this is the top price level of the group.
How to look after an automatic Doxa
Doxa automatic models are rated 3 ATM, so they are splash-resistant only: skip the shower and the swim. If you leave the watch off for a few days it will stop; just turn the crown a few times to wind it, then set the time. Don't leave it next to magnetic objects such as a laptop case or a speaker, and have the movement checked every few years, which our own watch service can help with.
How to choose an automatic online
Because of the rotor, an automatic case is usually a little taller than a quartz one, so check the case height on the product page if you plan to wear it with a shirt. If thinness matters most, the Slim Line automatic is the way to go. Want to see the quartz versions too? Take a look at the Doxa men's watches page, and at the brand's full range under Doxa watches.
