What kind of watch is the Vostok Europe Anchar?

The Anchar is one of Vostok Europe's most serious dive watches, named after the Soviet Project 661 Anchar submarine. It has an automatic movement and is water resistant to 30 ATM, or 300 metres. That goes well beyond beach use: it is designed for diving, with a screw-down crown and a rotating bezel.

What does 30 ATM water resistance mean in practice?

The 30 ATM marking does not mean you will dive to 300 metres with it. It means the case and gaskets can withstand far more pressure than an ordinary dive involves. For you, that means no worries while swimming, snorkelling or diving.

  • Never pull the crown out underwater, and check that it is screwed down fully before you get in.
  • Rinse the watch with tap water after exposure to salt water.
  • Have the gaskets checked once a year – our own watch service can do this for you.

Who is the Anchar for?

For anyone who wants a real, hefty dive watch with an automatic movement and does not mind a piece that stands out on the wrist. If you prefer something lighter, take a look at the Vostok Europe collections.

What people ask about Anchar dive watches

Where does the Vostok Europe Anchar get its name?

From the Soviet Anchar (Project 661) submarine. The dive-watch character of the collection nods to it.

How deep can you go with the Vostok Europe Anchar?

The Anchar is water resistant to 30 ATM (300 m), which is plenty for recreational and sport diving. Always make sure the crown is screwed down before you enter the water.

Does the Vostok Europe Anchar need a battery?

No, the Anchar is automatic and is wound by the movement of your wrist. If you leave it unworn for a few days it will stop, and you will need to wind and set it again.

Is the Vostok Europe Anchar covered by a warranty?

Yes. As an official dealer we supply it with the manufacturer warranty, backed by our own watch service. If you are looking for another Anchar variant, we will try to order it for you.
