Doxa D-Auto – Automatic Swiss Men's Watches Without a Battery
A Swiss automatic movement and a classic men's case: the Doxa D-Auto models wind themselves from the movement of your wrist and never need a battery. These are elegant watches for the office and for occasions, from the upper price tier of the brand. As an official Doxa dealer, we deliver the watch to your door with the manufacturer warranty, and we stay by your side for maintenance too.
How does the automatic movement of the Doxa D-Auto work?
Inside an automatic watch there is a rotating weight (rotor) that winds the spring a little with every movement of your hand. If you wear it day after day, it runs by itself; if it sits in a drawer for a few days, it stops, and then a few turns of the crown and setting the time is all it takes to get going again. There is no battery change; in return, an automatic asks for an inspection every few years, which our service takes care of.
Who do we recommend the D-Auto for?
- Someone who likes the watch to feel "alive" and wants to see the mechanics through the case back.
- An elegant gift for a graduation or a milestone birthday, where Swiss mechanics matter.
- The office and a suit – the D-Auto models have an elegant style.
What to look out for when wearing the D-Auto
The D-Auto models are 3 atm, meaning splash resistant: rain is fine, but do not shower or swim with it, and keep it away from magnetic objects (speakers, tablet covers), because that can disturb a mechanical movement. You can find the full men's range among the Doxa men's watches, and all of the brand's collections on the Doxa watches page.
Warranty and service
As an official Doxa dealer, we sell a genuine watch with the manufacturer warranty, ordered online and delivered to your door. The periodic inspection and oiling of the automatic movement is carried out by our own watch service.
Frequently asked questions about the Doxa D-Auto automatic watch
Does the Doxa D-Auto need a battery?
No, the Doxa D-Auto is an automatic watch and works without a battery. The movement of your wrist winds the movement.
What happens if I do not wear the D-Auto for a few days?
It stops, but it does not break. Wind it with a few turns of the crown, set the time, and it keeps running as before.
What determines the price of the Doxa D-Auto?
Because of the automatic Swiss movement, the D-Auto belongs to Doxa's upper price tier; the difference between models comes mainly from the case, the dial and the strap.
Can I shower with a Doxa D-Auto?
We do not recommend it; the D-Auto models are 3 atm splash-resistant watches. They handle rain and handwashing, but not the steam and the jet of water from a shower.
