Bering Solar – Solar-Powered Bering Watches, No Battery Changes
Bering Solar watches are charged by light, so you don't have to have the battery replaced regularly. Most of the models are women's watches, largely from the Classic Solar line, but there are solar-powered men's Berings too. As an official Bering dealer we supply them with the manufacturer warranty and deliver to your door after you order online, and if you need service later, our own watch service will help.
How does a Bering Solar watch work?
There is a solar cell under the dial that charges the watch's rechargeable battery from daylight or lamp light. If you wear it regularly and don't keep it in a drawer, you hardly have to think about it. If it ever does run down, leave it for a few hours by a window rather than in direct sun.
Who is a solar-powered Bering worth it for?
- Anyone tired of a watch that stops just when it matters least.
- Those who like the accuracy of quartz but don't want to bother winding a mechanical watch.
- Gifts, because the recipient won't ever have to think about battery changes.
Which Solar models can you choose from?
The backbone of the series is the Classic Solar, alongside women's Solar models and solar-powered Bering Charity pieces. For water resistance, 3 and 5 ATM versions are typical, and none of them is meant for swimming. For men, the Titanium series also has a solar version with a light titanium case.
Solar or conventional quartz?
Both are equally accurate. The difference is in the power supply: a conventional quartz needs a new battery every few years, while a solar watch just needs to get light regularly. If you wear the watch often, the Solar is more convenient; if it sits in its box for weeks, a conventional quartz is a fine choice too.
