Which Rochet strap should you choose for your watch?
Rochet is a French watch brand that has existed since 1908, with production in Besançon, and its straps are also the most requested in our own watch service. The series separate clearly by style:
- For an elegant dress watch: the glossy, alligator-grain Yaoundé or Charleston, in black and brown.
- For everyday wear: the Buffalo in cognac brown, the Trendy or the New York.

What should you look at in the size of a Rochet strap?
Two numbers matter: the width at the lugs and the width at the buckle. The first has to fit exactly into the case; the second matters so that your old buckle can be fitted too, if you want to keep it. Rochet straps range from 10 mm to 24 mm, with black and brown the two most common colours. Before ordering online, measure the old strap at the lugs and at the buckle with a calliper or a ruler.
D'clic: changing without tools
On Rochet straps with the D'clic fixing, you pull back the spring bar with a small lever, so you can change the strap at home. With a traditional fixing it is better to leave it to a watchmaker, because a slipped screwdriver leaves a mark on the case.
