Which Hirsch strap suits your watch?

Hirsch is an Austrian, family-owned strap maker founded in 1765, with its headquarters and production in Klagenfurt. In 1955 they developed the seamless Hirsch-Rembordé leather technique, which became an industry standard, and they supply Swiss luxury watchmakers too.

  • Duke: a plain, thicker leather strap, good for both everyday and dress watches.
  • Osiris Nubuck: matte leather with a velvety feel, for sportier classic watches.
  • Crocograin and Camelgrain: embossed leather with a crocodile or camel pattern, a more elegant look at a lower price.
  • Toronto and Kansas: relaxed, everyday leather straps.
  • Carbon and Mariner: sportier pieces in a carbon-pattern or nautical style.

What do M and L mean in the name of Hirsch straps?

The letter marks the length of the strap: M is the medium and L the longer version. M is usually right for a slimmer wrist, L for a larger wrist or if you like to wear it looser. If you are not sure, measure the two parts of your old, well-fitting strap and compare them with the dimensions given on the product page.

Does a Hirsch strap fit any watch?

On a case with traditional lugs, yes, if the width matches; on a watch with an integrated or proprietary attachment, no. Measure the inner distance between the lugs to the millimetre and choose the strap accordingly. You can change it at home, but our own watch service is happy to help too.

You will find other brands among the watch straps.

Hirsch watch straps – frequently asked questions

What kind of brand is Hirsch?

Hirsch is an Austrian watch strap manufacturer founded in 1765, headquartered in Klagenfurt. It exports to more than 80 countries and supplies Swiss luxury watchmakers as well.

Why is a Hirsch strap better than an unbranded leather strap?

Hirsch makes its straps with its own leather technique and careful finishing, so the strap lasts longer, keeps its shape better, and the edge does not fray. Makers of Swiss luxury watches buy from them too.

What determines the price of a Hirsch strap?

The material and the series. Plain leather straps are typically the entry level, while the patterned Crocograin and the more premium pieces cost more.

What is the difference between the Hirsch Duke M and L?

The Hirsch Duke M and L are the same strap in different lengths: M is medium, L is longer. We recommend M for a slimmer wrist and L for a larger one.
