How do you change the strap on a Cluse watch?
Cluse is a Dutch brand founded in Amsterdam in 2013, and one of the key ideas of its watches is that the strap is easy to change. On most models you pull back a small spring lever at the end of the bracelet, and the strap comes off without tools. That way the same watch can be worn with a black bracelet on weekdays and a rose gold one at the weekend.
Do you need a 16 or an 18 mm Cluse strap?
- 18 mm: for the larger-cased Cluse watches, for example the Boho Chic, La Roche and Pavane models.
- 16 mm: for the smaller, more delicate models such as the Minuit, La Tétragone, Le Couronnement, Triomphe and the Petite.
If you do not know which collection your watch belongs to, check the case back, or measure the width of the strap next to the case.
Which colour should you choose?
The simplest approach is to match the bracelet to the colour of the case: gold for a gold case, rose gold mesh for a rose gold case. If you feel bolder, a black stainless steel bracelet looks very good with a gold or rose gold case and makes the watch more modern. The woven mesh structure is light, sits snugly on the wrist, and handles splashes of water better than a leather strap.
