How do you find the exact Casio strap for your watch?
Casio straps are model-specific: the attachment often follows the shape of the case, so a universal strap rarely sits well. Find the model code on the back of the watch (for example AQ-180W, LRW-200H, W-217H) and search the list with the same code. If the print has worn off, the module number on the case back also helps identify it.
Resin or leather Casio strap?
- Resin: the original strap of most Casio and G-Shock watches. It is light and water resistant, but over time it hardens and cracks.
- Leather: for some women's analogue models, such as the LTP-2069L, in several colours.
At the top end of the price range are the more complex, larger G-Shock straps.
When is it time to change the strap on a Casio?
If the resin has cracked around the buckle, breaks off white, or the holes have stretched, do not wait: a strap usually snaps at an awkward moment, and the watch ends up on the floor. Our usual advice is that the second crack is the sign of the end.
Can you fit it at home?
On simple digital Casios the strap is held by a spring bar, which you can push out with a pin pusher – with a little practice it can be done at home. G-Shocks often have screw fixings or a special case connection, so leave those to a watchmaker; our own watch service can do the change too. Will a universal strap fit my Casio?
It does not fit most Casio and G-Shock models well, because the strap follows the shape of the case. A genuine strap fits exactly and looks the same as the original.
What determines the price of a Casio replacement strap?
Mainly the model of the watch. The straps for simple digital models are affordable, while the straps for larger, more complex G-Shocks cost more.
Who can fit a Casio strap?
