Women's watches by case material – steel, ceramic, titanium, plastic
The case material of a women's watch decides how light, scratch-resistant and skin-friendly it is. Here you can filter by material: the vast majority of the range is stainless steel, but plastic sports watches and models with ceramic and titanium cases are available from several series too. As an official dealer, we ship them with the factory warranty and home delivery, and our own watch service changes straps and batteries.
Which case material is best for a women's watch?
For everyday wear, women's stainless steel watches are the safest bet: durable, they do not discolour, and they can be polished at any time. If a heavy watch bothers you, look at women's watches with titanium cases, which are noticeably lighter and skin-friendly. Ceramic is unbeatable for scratch resistance and its colour does not fade – the Bering Ceramic women's models are good examples.
When is a plastic case a good choice?
For sport, workouts and the beach. Among women's plastic watches you will find the Casio G-Shock women's models: they are not afraid of weights or water, and you hardly feel them on your wrist.
Allergic to metals?
- Titanium is one of the best-tolerated metals, so it is the first thing we recommend for sensitive skin.
- Ceramic and plastic cases do not contain nickel on the surfaces that touch the skin either.
- Pay attention to the case back material too, since it touches your skin all day; you will find it on the product page, and if it is unclear, just ask us.
Steel or titanium – how to decide online
If the product page lists the weight, compare two models of a similar size: titanium is typically much lighter. If it is not given, the thickness of the case and the type of strap are a guide – a steel watch on a metal bracelet is the heaviest, a titanium one on a leather or silicone strap the lightest. All come from an official dealer with the factory warranty.
Women's watch case materials in brief
Does a ceramic women's watch scratch?
Ceramic is very scratch-resistant and hardly scratches in everyday use. A hard knock can crack it, though, so do not bang it against a hard surface.
Is a titanium watch lighter than steel?
Yes, a titanium case is noticeably lighter than steel of the same size. That is why it is popular for slim wrists and all-day wear.
What material are most women's watches made of?
The overwhelming majority of women's watches have stainless steel cases. The material is durable, easy to clean and found in every price tier.
