Where does MVMT come from, and who is it for?

MVMT started in Los Angeles in 2013 from an idea by Jake Kassan and Kramer LaPlante, crowdfunded, as a minimalist watch brand selling directly to customers. It has belonged to the Movado Group since 2018. Its style is still the same: a clean dial, little lettering, a slim case, trendy colours. With us it is mostly sought by people for whom it will be their first "proper" watch, or who are buying a gift for someone who doesn't like overdecorated pieces.

What to consider when ordering an MVMT watch

  • Case size: on slimmer wrists the smaller-diameter models fit well, while a large, flat case easily overhangs. Measure your wrist and compare it with the diameter given on the product page.
  • Water resistance: the typical MVMT model is rated 5 ATM, meaning it handles hand washing, rain and splashes, but we don't recommend it for swimming. Always check the exact value on the product page of the watch you choose.
  • Strap: a leather strap wears if you wear it every day; later we replace it in our own watch service and pick the right width for it as well.

What determines the price of an MVMT watch?

MVMT sits in the affordable band of fashion watches: the entry level is the simple three-hand models on leather straps, while metal-bracelet and chronograph versions sit higher. The price of models available to order depends on the type, so if you have your eye on a specific watch, send us its name or reference number and we will tell you how we can get it. If you want to compare it with other minimalist brands, you will find our entire range in the list of watch brands.

How durable is an MVMT watch?

An MVMT is a fashion watch, not a tool watch: it is designed for everyday wear, the office, a coffee with friends. The quartz movement is accurate and asks for little care, the battery typically lasts for years, and a replacement is quick with us. Protect the mineral crystal and the polished case from knocks, and take it off when you go to work out. If someone wants one watch for everything – swimming, gardening, hiking too – we will show them a different brand, and we will honestly say so.

Warranty and service

As an official MVMT dealer we deliver every watch to your door with a warranty. Battery changes, strap changes and later maintenance are handled by our own watch service, so you are not left without help after the purchase.

Questions about MVMT watches, answered briefly

What kind of brand is MVMT?

MVMT is an American watch brand founded in Los Angeles in 2013 and part of the Movado Group since 2018. It makes clean, minimalist wristwatches, mainly for a younger audience.

What determines the price of an MVMT watch?

The strap and the movement: leather-strap three-hand models are the entry level, while metal-bracelet and chronograph versions are in the brand's upper band. You can ask for a quote on a specific model in writing.

How do I choose an MVMT watch online?

Measure your wrist circumference and compare it with the case diameter on the product page: smaller models suit a slim wrist. If the watch you want is not in the webshop, we can order it for you.

Can you swim with an MVMT watch?

The typical MVMT model is rated 5 ATM, so we don't recommend swimming with it. It handles rain, hand washing and splashing water without trouble; you will find the exact water resistance on the product page.

Do you replace the strap or the battery of an MVMT watch?

Yes, we do both in our own watch service. For the strap we need to know the width between the case lugs, which we determine precisely from the product page or from the watch itself.
