Seastar 1000 or Seastar 2000?

  • Seastar 1000: 30 atm (300 m), available as quartz, chronograph and Powermatic 80 automatic. This is the backbone of the series and its most versatile member.
  • Seastar 2000 Professional: 60 atm (600 m), automatic, with a larger and thicker case. We recommend it if you really dive.

What makes a watch a dive watch?

A dive watch is usually one with at least 20 atm (200 m) of water resistance, a rotating bezel and good legibility in the dark. The Seastar delivers: a unidirectional rotating bezel for timing dives, a screw-down crown and luminous hands. Always screw the crown back in before going into the water – it is the most common mistake we see in our service.

Is the Seastar good as an everyday watch?

Yes, most people buy the Seastar 1000 not for diving but for every day: it stands up to knocks, water and the beach. If you also want to wear it in the office, the version with a metal bracelet and a dark dial is the most versatile. For a woman's wrist we recommend the Seastar with the smaller case.

Warranty and service

As an official Tissot dealer, we sell every Seastar with the manufacturer warranty. It is worth having the water resistance checked before summer, because gaskets tire over time – our own watch service can help with that, as well as with battery changes and servicing automatics.

You can find the other sporty series on the Tissot brand page.
