Tissot PR516 – motorsport spirit from quartz to hand-wound
The Tissot PR516 brings the spirit of motorsport: perforated straps, chronographs, a tachymeter bezel. Our selection includes men's models with quartz chronograph, automatic and hand-wound mechanical movements, all rated 10 atm. As an official Tissot dealer we deliver to your door with the manufacturer warranty, and we are happy to explain the ins and outs of hand winding.
Where does the Tissot PR516 come from?
The original PR516 appeared in 1965, drawing on the world of racing cars. Today's models bring that mood back: a sporty dial, an easy-to-read stopwatch and, on many, a perforated strap reminiscent of driving gloves. The pieces in the series are sporty in style and made for men.
Quartz, automatic or hand-wound PR516?
- Quartz chronograph: the most affordable, accurate, battery powered. For when you want the stopwatch and no fuss.
- Automatic: wound by the motion of your wrist, no battery needed.
- Hand-wound mechanical: you wind it with the crown every day or two. A favourite of collectors who love the morning ritual.
Who is the PR516 for?
For anyone drawn to motorsport who does not want to wear a dive watch. The PR516 is sporty but not loud: it looks best with jeans and a leather jacket. If you are looking for your first chronograph, start with the quartz version; if you already own a watch, the hand-wound one is the special piece.
Warranty and service
We are an official Tissot dealer, so every PR516 arrives with the manufacturer warranty. Battery changes on the quartz version and servicing of the mechanical watches are done by our own watch service, so you are not left on your own once the warranty ends.
The other sporty Tissots – the Seastar or the Supersport Chrono – can be found on the brand page. It is worth looking at the PR516 from several angles in the product photos: the perforated strap and the tachymeter scale give it its character.
