Citizen Chronograph – Men's Eco-Drive Stopwatch Watches
We offer a wide men's selection of Citizen chronograph watches with a stopwatch function, the vast majority of them light-powered Eco-Drive and a few battery-powered quartz. The range runs from the brand's entry level to more refined titanium and pilot chronographs. As an official Citizen dealer we deliver to your door with the manufacturer warranty, and our own watch service also checks the pusher seals if you plan to take the watch into the water later.
What is a chronograph good for on an everyday watch?
A chronograph is a built-in stopwatch: you start and stop it with the upper pusher and reset it with the lower one, while the small subdials show the minutes. It is handy for workouts and runs, and even for timing your pasta. On Citizen Eco-Drive chronographs the stopwatch runs on the energy gained from light too, so there is no separate battery to run down.
Which Citizen chronograph should you choose?
- Citizen Chrono men's – sporty, 10 ATM, and the main part of the range.
- Titanium chronographs – if you want a lighter case.
- Elegance Man chronograph – a more restrained dial to go with a suit.
- Promaster Sky and Bullhead – pilot and retro character.
What to look out for when buying a chronograph
Check how legible the dial is: with lots of subdials, a 43-44 mm case is more comfortable than a small one. Most models are 10 ATM, so you can swim with them, but do not press the stopwatch pushers underwater. If you are specifically after a diver's watch, head for the Promaster Marine in our Citizen range.
When you choose online, check the case diameter and thickness on the product page and compare them with a watch you already own, so there are no surprises when you unwrap the parcel.
Citizen chronographs: what to know
Does a Citizen chronograph need a battery?
Most Citizen chronographs are Eco-Drive and do not need regular battery changes. The few quartz models have a battery, which our own service replaces.
What determines the price of a Citizen chronograph?
The movement and the material: steel Eco-Drive chronographs sit in the more affordable band, while titanium-cased and Promaster Sky versions are higher. The number of functions (date, world time, slide rule) matters too.
What is the Citizen Tsuno Bullhead chronograph?
The Bullhead is Citizen's retro chronograph, where the pushers sit on top of the case, where you would expect the horns. It recalls the styling of the 1970s and is a favourite with collectors.
Can you swim with a Citizen stopwatch watch?
With a 10 ATM Citizen chronograph you can swim, but do not operate the stopwatch pushers underwater. The exact water resistance is listed on every product page.
